Observation
1. General considerations
Observation may be considered in a compliant patient where:
- A fracture line without displacement is noted on the CT
- The fracture is stable
- The occlusion is normal
The patient is instructed to stay on a non–chew diet for 4–6 weeks and recalled regularly to monitor healing.
Note that this situation is fairly uncommon.
2. Aftercare
Follow-up is provided until complete healing and stability have occurred.
