Observation

1. Observation

It is unlikely that a complex palatal fracture presents without displacement and with stability and normal occlusion.

For this reason, complex palato-alveolar injuries are rarely amenable to observation.

2. Aftercare

These patients need to stay on a liquid diet for 6 or more weeks.

Follow-up must be provided until complete healing and stability have occurred.

For aftercare and rehabilitation following observation, please refer to your local protocol.
