Secondary survey

After completion of the acute survey and associated life-saving treatments as needed, the secondary survey may begin. If a large enough trauma team is present, the secondary survey can start before the primary survey is finished, but must not interfere.

The goal of the secondary survey is to identify clearly every significant injury and relevant medical condition.
