Fractures of the naso-orbito-ethmoid (NOE) complex involve the bones that form the NOE confluence, including the anterior cranial fossa, the frontal bone, the bones of the ethmoid, the nasal bones, and the orbits.
Due to the anatomic variation, ie, lack of frontal and maxillary sinuses, higher cancellous to cortical bone ratio, and maxillary tooth buds, classic adult fracture patterns are less commonly observed.
