Dorsal recumbency

1. Positioning of the horse

The horse is positioned in dorsal recumbency with the tarsal joint flexed to 90 degrees.

The surgeon is best positioned at the injured side of the horse, looking in a caudal direction.

The site is clipped and aseptically prepared. Drapes are applied.
