Preparation for osteotomies

1. Lateral recumbency

The patient is positioned in lateral recumbency. Placement of the limb up or down is determined by the configuration of the osteotomy needed. This is determined from the preoperative planning.

growth retardation

The surgical site is prepared routinely for aseptic surgery. The use of incise drapes facilitating the surgeon’s view of the entire bone are preferred.
