42-B3 are diaphyseal fractures with one or more non-reconstructible wedges.
42-B3 type fractures have a fractured fibula.
42-B type fractures are typically caused by a combination of bending and compression forces.
They may occur after a fall from height, being kicked or following blunt trauma. Depending on the amount of energy causing the fracture, there may be more or less comminution.
