Implant removal
1. Plate removal
Plate removal is recommended in presence or evidence of: pain around the plate area, screw loosening, and/or infection. Some surgeons prefer to remove all plates in growing patients.
2. ILN removal
ILN should only be removed if there is any sign of infection.
3. Intramedullary pins
Intramedullary pins should be removed if they migrate, cause pain or infection.
4. Cerclage wires removal
Cerclage wires should only be removed if there is any sign of loosening or infection.
