Simple transverse fracture

This fracture is classified as an AO/OTA 42A3 fracture. These are simple diaphyseal fractures of the tibia, with a transverse fracture line, located at any level of the diaphysis.

A transverse fracture line is defined as having an inclination of less than 30º to the perpendicular axis of the tibia.

This x-ray reveals a transverse diaphyseal fracture of the tibia.
