Glenoid fossa, partial articular, posterior simple

These fractures are simple posterior, partial articular fractures of the glenoid rim or fossa.

This is an intraarticular fracture of the posterior glenoid rim or fossa. Most of these fractures are associated with posterior dislocation of the shoulder. The posterior movement of the humeral head will typically cause a shearing lesion of the posterior glenoid rim.
