Avulsion fracture involving posterior cruciate ligament insertion

A posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) avulsion injury is an avulsion fracture involving a posterior ligament insertion. If the avulsion fragment is large enough ORIF is indicated to restore ligament function. If the fragment is small arthroscopic management or reconstruction may be indicated, based on surgeon preference.
