Ulna, complete articular

Complete articular fractures of the olecranon and coronoid are classified as 2U1C3 fractures.

This fracture has the following qualifiers:
• d – Simple
• r – Multifragmentary olecranon
• s – Multifragmentary involving coronoid process (illustrated)

This is either a variant of the transolecranon fracture dislocation, or a type of posterior olecranon fracture-dislocation with no fracture of the radial head (very uncommon - look for the radial head fracture with this injury).

The x-ray illustrates a multifragmentary olecranon fracture involving the coronoid process.
