Oblique fracture of the diaphysis

Definition

Simple oblique shaft fractures of the proximal phalanges are classified according to AO/OTA as 78.2–5.1.2A, where 2–5 indicates which finger is injured.

Obliquity of the fracture is possible either in the plane visible in the AP view or the plane visible in the lateral view. Always confirm the fracture configuration with views in both planes.
