Multifragmentary segmental fractures of the distal diaphyeal-meatphyseal femoral shaft are classified as 32C3(k) fractures.

Fragmentary segmental fractures result from very severe injury to the femur. These fractures normally result from high energy motor vehicle trauma and are often open fractures.
