Complete articular, simple articular, fragmentary metaphyseal

This fracture type is classified by the AO/OTA as 13C2 when the articular component is simple, and the metaphyseal component contains an intact or fragmentary wedge or is multifragmentary.

The mechanical properties of the distal humerus are based on a triangle of stability, comprising the medial and lateral columns, and the transverse condylar mass. In these fractures, all 3 sides of this triangle must be restored.
