External nasal deformities

The most common external deformities of the nose include:

  • Deviation of the nasal dorsum
  • Curvilinear deformation of the nose
  • Saddle nose deformity
  • Foreshortening of the nose (illustrated)

The foreshortening of the nose is considered to be the most severe deformity and also the most difficult to correct. It is a combination of external and internal deformities.
