Emergency screws

If one uses a non-locking screw, emergency screws may help if the drill holes have been over-drilled.

In this diagram, non-locking head screws have been inserted in a locking head plate. Occasionally the screw placed is somewhat loose, requiring replacement with a slightly larger (emergency) screw. Plating systems have emergency screw systems in each kit to facilitate the management of this situation.

The illustration shows the plate fixed with a regular screw (A) and an emergency screw (B).
