Brown II

This defect includes a vertical component but does not involve or affect the orbital rim. The horizontal component can include a portion of the dental arch, Brown IIa-b, the entire arch (bilateral infrastructure maxillectomies), Brown IIc. This defect can also include the nasal septum and turbinates and always results in an oral-antral/oro-nasal fistulae.

This typically results from the resection of an alveolus or inferior maxillary sinus neoplasm.
